CMA 24 Hour Jamathon

28th November 2016

We did it! On Friday 25th November 17 CMA students embarked on a 24 hour Jamathon to raise money for our Music Department. Starting at 4pm, students were geared up and raring to go. Instruments at the ready and drummers comfortably seated, our opening song of ‘Seven Nation Army’ began. With the help of 11 CMA staff members, students were split into 2 groups and worked in 4 hour shifts to keep the beat going. With our hourly tweets and Facebook Live videos, we kept an audience at home entertained by posting snippets of songs and sleepy photos of students that just couldn’t stay awake any longer. As the crowdfunding page kept rising and our buckets were filling up the students were constantly spurred on by all the support.  By the time we hit 4pm Saturday, only 5 students remain. The total reached the £600 mark and suddenly the realisation of what we’d done had hit home. Exhaustion kicked in and the sleep deprived students headed home with the heads held high. Congratulations everyone! You’re a credit to CMA and you should all be proud of what you’ve achieved.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in this event. Our crowdfunding page closes on 6th December and we’d love the total to keep climbing. Please dig deep…

Thank you!

Miss Patrick
