28th August 2019

Students at Cedar Mount Academy were celebrating their successes on GCSE results day, as the schools results once again improved on previous years. 27% of students achieved strong passes in English and Maths, the key government measure, and 40.1% of students achieved standard passes in both core subjects. The academy enjoyed its best results in history, with an ambitious 51% of students entered for the EBacc and 17% achieving the Ebacc at strong pass level.

A fantastic 45 grades were awarded the highest result, grade 9, three times as many as in 2018, and 12.7% of all results were grade at 9-8. 58% of all exam results were standard passes of 4 and above. Thirty-one students averaged above grade 6 in all exam entries. An amazing six of these students arrived in England within the last three years, with little to no English. Our students now go on to further study or work across the city of Manchester.

Principal Kal Hodgson said, “These results are the results of determined and hardworking young people, supportive parents and dedicated staff. To continue to improve the outcomes for our students is excellent, and we wish the pupils of Cedar Mount Academy the greatest success for their futures.”
